Exterior Remodeling Services in Austin, TX

Professional exterior remodeling services including roofing, siding, windows, painting, and storm damage repair for homeowners across Austin and Central Texas.

Central Texas Is Hard on a House

Between the summer sun, the hail that shows up every spring, and humidity that finds every soft spot in your siding, an Austin exterior takes a beating. Paint fades. Trim rots. Shingles curl. It happens slowly, and then one day you pull into the driveway and really look at the place.
Cornerstone is a family-owned exterior remodeling company in Austin, and we handle the outside of your home the same way we handle the inside. Roofing, siding, windows, exterior painting, stucco, and the repair work that keeps small problems from turning into expensive ones.
Working with one exterior remodeling contractor means one team owns the whole envelope. No roofer blaming the siding guy, no siding guy blaming the painter.
We work on everything from historic homes in Central Austin to ranch-style houses in South Austin and newer construction out in Cedar Park and Georgetown. Different eras, different materials, same Texas weather.

Our Exterior Remodeling Services

Our exterior renovation services cover the whole outside of your home. Most projects pull from these:

Roofing

Roof repair and replacement built for Central Texas weather. Asphalt shingle and metal roofing, plus decking, underlayment, and flashing work. If you're not sure whether you need a repair or a full replacement, we'll take a look and tell you straight.

Siding

Siding installation and replacement, including James Hardie fiber cement — the material most Austin homeowners land on because it handles heat, hail, and humidity without warping or cracking. We install lap siding, board and batten, and wood, with proper trim and clean edges.

Windows

Window replacement that cuts down on drafts and cooling bills. Energy-efficient units installed and sealed correctly, with stucco or siding repaired around each opening so the wall looks seamless when we're done.

Exterior Painting

Exterior painting with real surface prep, quality coatings, and finishes made to hold their color under Central Texas sun. Siding, trim, doors, stucco, and brick.

Stucco Repair & Refinishing

Cracks, patches, and refinishing on stucco homes, matched to the existing texture so repairs blend in instead of standing out.

Wood Rot & Trim Repair

Rotted fascia, soffit, window trim, and door casing replaced before the damage spreads. This is the repair we get called about most, and it's almost always cheaper to handle early.

Soffit, Fascia & Gutters

The parts nobody thinks about until water shows up somewhere it shouldn't. Soffit and fascia protect your roof edges and help your attic breathe.

Exterior Doors & Garage Doors

Entry doors, patio doors, and garage door replacement, one of the higher-return upgrades you can make on an exterior.

Decks & Patio Covers

Deck building, repair, and patio covers built for the way people actually live in Austin, which is mostly outside when the weather cooperates.

Fencing & Masonry

Fence installation and repair, plus stone and masonry work that ties the exterior together.

Storm & Hail Damage Repair

After a Central Texas hailstorm, we'll inspect the roof, siding, and windows and give you an honest assessment of what actually needs work, not a list padded out to fill a claim.

  • Local and family-owned: we live here, we work here, our name’s on it

Doing more than the outside? We handle exterior work as part of whole home remodeling, and we take on interior projects, kitchens, and bathrooms too.

Exterior Remodeling Costs in Austin

Exterior projects range widely, so there’s no flat price. What yours costs depends on:

Timelines work the same way. A trim repair or a paint job moves quickly. A full re-side or roof replacement takes longer, and weather plays a role, we’re not putting a roof on during a Central Texas thunderstorm.

We’d rather look at the actual condition than guess. As an exterior renovation contractor, we’ll inspect the work, tell you what’s involved, and give you a clear breakdown of cost and schedule before anything starts. No hidden fees.

Living in the House While We Work

For nearly all exterior projects, you stay in your home and your routine barely changes.

There’s noise, and there’ll be crews and equipment around the outside of the house. We keep the work area organized, protect your landscaping and windows, and clean up daily. Roofing days are the loudest, and we’ll tell you which ones those are ahead of time so you can plan around them.

Exterior Remodeling FAQs

What's included in exterior remodeling?

It covers everything on the outside: roofing, siding, windows, exterior painting, stucco, trim and wood rot repair, soffit and fascia, doors, decks, patio covers, and fencing. Some projects are a single trade, others pull in several at once. We scope it around the condition of your home and what you’re trying to fix.

Fiber cement, in most cases. James Hardie and similar products hold up to UV, hail, and humidity without warping, cracking, or fading the way cheaper materials do, and they need very little upkeep. Wood and stucco both have their place depending on the style of the house, we’ll talk through what fits yours.

Depends on the age of the roof and how widespread the damage is. Isolated missing shingles or a small leak is often a repair. Widespread granule loss, curling, decking rot, or a roof near the end of its life usually means replacement. We’ll inspect it and give you an honest answer either way.

Yes. After a hailstorm we’ll inspect the roof, siding, and windows and tell you what actually took damage. We’ll document what we find so you have what you need if you’re filing a claim, and we’ll be straight with you about what’s cosmetic versus what matters.

If your current windows are single-pane or leaking air, usually yes. Energy-efficient windows cut down on cooling costs during an Austin summer, and they help with noise and comfort too. We’ll tell you honestly whether replacement or repair makes more sense for what you’ve got.

Often, yes. If the rot is contained to a section of fascia, trim, or siding, we cut it out and replace that section. If it’s spread into the structure behind it, we’ll show you what we’re seeing and explain why a bigger repair is the right call.

It varies. A paint job or trim repair moves quickly. A full re-side or roof replacement takes longer, and Central Texas weather can shift the schedule. We give you a realistic timeline before we start and keep you posted if the forecast changes things.

Some projects do roofing, structural work, and certain window and door replacements often require City of Austin permits. Painting and minor repairs usually don’t. We’ll tell you what your project needs and handle the permitting.

It’s consistently one of the better returns in remodeling. Siding, roofing, windows, and garage doors all rank well, partly because buyers see them immediately and partly because they signal a house that’s been maintained.

We do. Every estimate is free with no obligation, and if we don’t need to visit first, you can often expect one within 24 hours.
