Why Update Your Cabinets?

Most people call us because storage stopped working or the kitchen just looks tired. Here’s what new cabinetry actually gets you:

  • Storage that fits your life, deep drawers, pull-outs, and a pantry built around what you actually own
  • A whole new look, cabinets set the tone, so updating them updates the room
  • Better use of awkward space, corners, sloped ceilings, and odd nooks are where custom work earns its keep
  • Quality that lasts, solid boxes and real hardware instead of particleboard that sags in five years
  • Soft-close everything, small thing, noticed daily
  • Added home value, cabinets are one of the first things Austin buyers judge in a kitchen

Our Cabinetry Services

Our cabinetry services cover everything from a single vanity to a full custom kitchen. Most projects pull from these:

Custom Kitchen Cabinets

Built for your layout, not adapted to it. Door styles from shaker to slab, paint or stain finishes, soft-close hardware, and interior storage designed around how you actually cook. Full kitchen remodels or cabinets only.

Custom Bathroom Vanities

Floating vanities, double vanities, and custom builds sized for tight bathroom footprints where stock sizes never quite fit. Built to handle moisture, with finishes that hold up.

Cabinet Refacing

If your cabinet boxes are solid and the layout works, refacing gets you a new look for a fraction of full replacement. New doors, drawer fronts, veneer, and hardware — the frames stay, everything you see changes.

Cabinet Refinishing & Painting

The lightest-touch option. Same doors, same layout, new finish. Proper prep, sanding, and a durable sprayed finish so it doesn't chip the first time someone bumps it with a pan.

Cabinet Installation

We install what we build and what you buy. If you've ordered cabinets from a showroom or big-box store, we'll set them level, square, and scribed to your walls — which matters more than most people realize in an older Austin house.

Built-Ins, Bookcases & Entertainment Centers

Custom shelving, window seats, media walls, and bookcases built into the space instead of parked against it.

Home Office & Study Built-Ins

Desks, shelving, and file storage designed around how you work, sized to the room you've got.

Laundry, Mudroom & Pantry Cabinets

Laundry room cabinets, mudroom lockers and benches, and pantry cabinets with real organization. The rooms that work hardest and get updated last.

Garage Cabinets & Storage

Durable garage storage that gets tools and gear off the floor.

Cabinet Repair

Doors that won't close, drawers off their slides, loose hinges, or water damage under a sink. Not everything needs replacing.

Hardware & Finishing Touches

Knobs, pulls, hinges, crown molding, and toe kicks. As a residential cabinetry team, we know the details are what separate custom from close enough.

Reface, Refinish, or Replace?

This is the question almost every client asks, so here’s the honest breakdown.

  • Refinishing is the lightest and least expensive option. You keep your existing doors and boxes and change the color or finish. This works when the cabinets are structurally sound, the layout works, and you just want them to look current. It’s the fastest option too.
  • Refacing sits in the middle. You keep the boxes, but get new doors, drawer fronts, and hardware, with the frames covered in matching veneer. It costs meaningfully less than full replacement and gets you most of the visual change. Good fit when the boxes are solid but the door style is dated.
  • Replacement makes sense when the boxes are damaged, the layout doesn’t work, or you want more storage than the current configuration allows. It costs more and takes longer, but it’s the only option that changes the actual footprint.

The short version: if you like the layout and the boxes are sound, refinishing or refacing usually gets you there. If the layout is the problem, replace. We’ll open a few doors, check the boxes, and tell you honestly which one you’re looking at, including when the cheaper option is the right one.

Cabinetry Costs in Austin

Cabinet projects cover a wide range, so there’s no flat price. What yours costs depends on:

The timeline follows the same pattern. Refinishing moves quickly. Refacing takes longer. Custom cabinets have real build and lead times, which is worth knowing before you plan around a holiday.

We’d rather look at your actual space than guess. As a cabinet contractor, we’ll measure, talk through options, and give you a clear breakdown of cost and schedule before anything starts. No hidden fees.

Living With It During the Work

For most cabinet projects, you stay in the house and life keeps moving.

Refinishing and refacing mean your kitchen is partially out of service for a stretch, and we’ll tell you how long up front. Full replacement means a gap between demo and install — we’ll help you plan a temporary setup and keep that window as tight as we can. Either way, we seal off the work zone, run dust control, and clean up daily.

Should I reface, refinish, or replace my cabinets?

If the boxes are solid and you like the layout, refinishing or refacing usually gets you the look you want for less. If the boxes are damaged or the layout doesn’t work, replacement is the move. We’ll check the condition and give you an honest recommendation.

It depends on how much cabinetry you need, whether you go custom or semi-custom, the materials and finish, and the storage features you add. Refinishing costs least, refacing sits in the middle, and full custom replacement is the largest investment. We’ll measure and give you a detailed breakdown.

Refinishing is the quickest. Refacing takes longer since doors and fronts have to be made. Custom cabinets have real build and lead times on top of installation. We give you a realistic schedule before we start.

Stock comes in fixed sizes and ships fast. Semi-custom offers more sizes, finishes, and door styles within set options. Custom is built to your exact measurements with no compromises on layout, which matters most in older Austin homes where nothing is a standard size.

Plywood boxes hold up better than particleboard, especially anywhere near water. Solid hardwood doors take paint and stain well and last decades. MDF is stable and takes a painted finish nicely. We’ll walk you through what fits your budget and where it’s worth spending more.

Both, depending on the project. Some jobs call for fully custom built work, others are better served by quality semi-custom lines. We’ll recommend based on your layout, timeline, and budget, not on what’s easier for us.

Yes. If you’ve ordered from a showroom or big-box store, we’ll install them properly. In older Austin homes, walls are rarely square, and scribing cabinets to fit is the difference between a clean install and visible gaps.

Custom bathroom vanities, bookcases, entertainment centers, home office built-ins, laundry and mudroom storage, and garage cabinets are all regular work for us.

Often, yes for an addition or a single replacement run. Matching an older finish exactly can be tricky depending on age and wear, and we’ll be upfront about how close we expect to get before you commit.

Cabinets are one of the first things buyers notice in a kitchen or bath, so updated cabinetry tends to hold its value well. The daily payoff is usually bigger though, storage that finally works is something you notice every morning.

We do. Every estimate is free with no obligation, and if we don’t need to visit your home first, you can often expect one within 24 hours.
